God's purpose for our youth and family ministry is...
Having fun growing a faithful family by sharing and caring like Christ.

New ending time for Small Groups in October!  Simple Suppers and Small Groups will end their Wednesday evening program at 7:30 p.m.  This change will hopefully allow families to get home in time for homework (sorry kiddos!) before bedtime.

► Small Group Topics for February

Are you tired of the same old thing at Small Groups?  So are we!  We are testing a new program called “Bible Songs”.  It is a fun and interactive, fast paced evening filled with scripture, music, art and fellowship.  And, at the same time, learning about the Old Testament in a brand new way.  Come and join us!  See for yourselves how wonderful our Wednesday nights are!

  ► 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering

The 2009 ELCA Youth Gathering was held July 22-26 in New Orleans.  The Shared Lutheran Ministry had 18 participants, including a friend from McDade.  The Gathering gave us a choice of 6 interest areas to focus on during the Gathering.  Our interest area was the environment.  Our service project was at Algiers Point, across the Mississippi River, which is part of New Orleans.  We cleaned up trash and piled up limbs and brush that gathered along the levee.  Our contributions, with your help, to the
“Change the World: ELCA World Hunger Appeal” was $1,030.00, to the online offering for service project items was $335.00 and to the Sunday morning worship was $250.00, plus individual participant contributions.  We also donated, courtesy of Mrs. Nelda Weyand, 2 harmonicas to the music community of Louisiana.”
