Ministry Happenings

The Shared Lutheran Ministry offers a variety of milestone celebrations and fellowship opportunities throughout the year. The Shared Lutheran Ministry proudly recognizes all the events and milestones in the lives of our members: baptisms, first communion, confirmation, and marriage/weddings. Other milestones include graduations (kindergarten, high school, college, etc), 1st day of school, 3rd grade Bibles and more. If you have an important milestone coming up in you or your child's life, feel free to share it with us!

Sunday School

We have an awesome Sunday School! Kids from pre-K through 6th grade are welcome to come learn about our faith. Kids learn lessons through crafts, cooking, Bible study, art, music. You don't have to be a member to come, so bring the neighbors and friends! Sunday School is held the first Sunday of the month from 3:00-5:00 p.m.at St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville.

Day Camp

2024 Day Camp dates will be availble soon.

• Breakfast and snacks are provided. Breakfast will be served 7:30-8:30 and camp will begin at 8:30 with pick up scheduled for 12:00-12:30.
• There is no cost for VBS but a freewill donation to cover the cost of the meals is suggested.

Participants will be divided into groups consisting of a Lutherhill staff person, a small group assistant, and campers similar in age. Bible studies, nature learning, service opportunities, arts & crafts, and games take place during group time.

Bible Study

The Breakfast Bible Study group meets Saturdays at John Burkland’s Party Barn, 6924 Wied Rd, Rutersville. Breakfast is provided and is served at 8:00 am with the study beginning at 8:30 am. You can attend in person or by Zoom. You are invited to join them for a time of fellowship and gathering. Contact Phil Oestreich (philoestex@gmail.com, 979-966-9474) for more information.

WOMEN OF THE ELCA

SLM has three WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) groups that meet. The ladies of WELCA meet monthly for Bible study, fellowship and ministry meeting. Each group has outreach projects which include projects such as making quilts for Lutheran World Relief, food drives for the local AMEN Food Pantry and much more. For information contact the SLM office.

SECOND CHANCE VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE

The Shared Lutheran Ministry is on a rotation to volunteer at Second Chance in La Grange. More information can be found in all newsletters.

AMEN Food Pantry & AMEN/Central Texas Food Truck

SLM members volunteer at the local food pantry and at the mobile food truck. Interested in learning more about AMEN or volunteering opportunities contact Mary Lou Fritsch at 979-249-6947.

Bunco Group

The ladies of the SLM get together once a month on a Friday evening at 6pm for fellowship and laughs! The evening starts with dinner, Bunco, dessert and LCR (Left, Right, Center Game). No experience necessary to play Bunco or LCR. Just bring 3- one-dollar bills to play LCR. The money from the LCR game is donated to a local cause.
